Resistant starch researcher (former university professor); Executive Director at SmartStarch, Inc. ======================================= Hayashibara graduated from Keio University in 1966, later earning an MBA at the University of Chicago. He served as a director for Kabaya Foods before joining Hayashibara Co., Ltd. While serving as a director at Hayashibara, he conducted research into techniques for extracting resistant starch, an indigestible form of starch, and with his unique method succeeded in conducting the world’s first high-purity extraction. Since co-founding SmartStarch, Inc., in 2019, he has continued his life’s work of delivering the results of years of research to people around the world.
